I recorded this episode from Rosemary Beach, Florida, where my husband, son and I go every spring for a working vacation. We load up the suit cases with lots of toys for Henry, our laptops, my podcasting equipment, and the rest of our vacay essentials and head to the airport – ready for some time away from the Wisconsin winter.
We usually get a lot of work done, but this year Henry made the work part of the trip a little more challenging. So we opted to focus a little more on the vacation part than the work part. By enjoying more time together, reading on the porch as the waves crash in, and enjoying some of our favorite meals.

BUT, there’s one thing that no one tells you about starting, building, and running a business… THAT IT’S HARD!
That it takes work.
That there’s no super secret, magic wand to wave to have a wildly successful business appear out of thin air.
And as much as I hate to be the one to tell you – building a business isn’t easy.
It takes showing up – even when it feels like, “None of this is working! What’s the point?”
It’s taking a hard look at things, putting yourself out there, and continuing to show up even when the going gets tough!
