Let’s pretend this is your digital version of the Saturday morning paper that you just picked up from the newsstand around the corner (just like the good old days – kind of)!
THE SOCIAL SIP:
Why you’re (probably) feeling STUCK on social (and the scootering door knockers)
Sales people get a bad rap sometimes (okay, a lot of the times) and I think we all know why… For example, we’ve had them cruising our neighborhood on scooters for the last week (seriously)
I actually have no clue what they’re selling because the last time a nest doorbell notification popped up on my phone and that’s what I saw, my husband and I were eating dinner on the deck, planning our baby’s nursery and I wasn’t about to answer the door for cold sales and interrupt our night.
Interruptive selling – clearly not my style and also why sales people get their bad rap. What does this have to do with being stuck on social? Social media is either a big piece of your marketing strategy OR you probably want it to be if you read my blogs.
But you’re constantly being pulled between thoughts like:
I should tell my followers I can help them buy or sell
But I don’t want to annoy them (interruptive selling isn’t for you either)
But I don’t feel creative
And how do I make someone care about my business anyways?
I don’t have the perfect thing to say (I’m not a writer!)
or the perfectly curated feed – I’m not a freaking photographer either
I don’t know how to make sure people think of me when they think of real estate while at the same time, not being that scootering sales person on social?!
But regardless, it sounds a heck of a lot better than riding a scooter door to door to see who wants to sell their house.. that I know!
SO WHAT DO I DO?! Where do I start? How do I stop overthinking all this?
The thing is, many of us are wayyyy overcomplicating social media – to the point where we don’t do much of anything because we don’t know what the heck to do. We see other people in our industry doing it but we just keep scrolling and consuming and comparing rather than taking time to sit down and figure out how WE want to show up.
We can sit in that “stuck-ness” for a really long time if we’re not careful. Before we know it, 6 months have gone by and we are in the exact same spot. Frustrated by social, over-consuming, feeling the constant pressure of perfection.. Luckily, I have something to help break you free from that. To unchain you from the overwhelming thoughts and inaction (& I promise it doesn’t involve door knocking OR scooters).
It’s called MOMENTUM. Sometimes all we need is a micro action, baby steps in the right direction to get the creative juices flowing, to find clarity, to DO SOMETHING that gets the ball rolling, that aligns with US and doesn’t feel salesy.
I wanted to invite you to join me & a ton of other agents who have taken the step towards momentum by getting sip-able social media updates, strategies, trends, stories, must listen podcast recs (like the ones in this blog post) sent straight to your inbox! It’s called my weekly sip list – click here to join!
TO SIP ON (with AirPods):
Are Salespeople Trustworthy? *This also pairs well with my conversation above about the scootering door knockers.
THOUGHT TO SIP ON:
“Doubt increases with inaction. Clarity reveals itself in momentum. Growth comes from progress. For all these reasons, BEGIN.” -Brendon Burchard
